I Didn't Quite Make It...

However, I have a good excuse.

Meet Hazel!

Our third little angel joined our family on
November 6th. She has been a joy and a
delight in our home. Scott and I are getting
used to being outnumbered, and the girls
are loving their baby sister a little too
much, but it is so sweet to see them all
interact so well.

I did still do some creating during the
past 10 months and will be posting some
of those projects, along with current
projects soon. I feel ready to be back
to almost regular activity level and to
blogging regularly again.

Hope you are all well and feeling crafty!

Baby Bootie (233:365)

I completed only 1 baby bootie today. It is for a friend who just had a baby that is adorable!
I'll post pics once both are done and ready to ship!

Edited Photos (209:365)

In Picasa, there is a button that allows you to edit and alter your photos in an online program called Picnik. That is what I used today for these, and I think they turned out pretty well.

Here are a few of the pictures of sweet little Ava.

My First Baby Photoshoot (207:365)

My friend Anna and I took some pictures of a sweet little baby today. Baby Ava was adorable and I did my best to capture her adorableness... I hope I got at least a few good shots. Here is one of the raw pictures as a preview.

Nursing Cover (197:365)

Made my first nursing cover today (for a friend, NOT me!) while crafting at my friend Julie's.

I used this amazing tutorial over at Freshly Picked.

With help from the tutorial, I added a little corner of terry cloth to wipe the drooly baby and a pocket for such necessities as binkys and snacks for momma.

Beginnings of a Baby Cocoon (195:365)

I know that sounds really weird, but trust me, it's gonna be cute! I've been coveting baby cocoon props that photographers have been using and annoyed that everyone charges $40 for them. Then I realized, I can make one myself! Whipped out the good old Knifty Knitter and have been working on it all night. It's probably gonna take a few days, but hopefully it will be done by the time I help a friend take some pictures of a sweet little baby I know.
For shots of cute completed baby cocoons that other people have made and used look here.

Baby Boy Blowout (166:365)

Scott watched my friend Heather's little baby boy today while she and I took someone out to lunch. (He volunteered to do it without my asking! - He's the best honey around!)
Our kids don't really have blowout diapers, but this little one does, so Scott had a lovely surprise after we left, yet handled it well. Poor little baby, he ended up in girl clothes for the ride home!

My First Baby Booties (122:365)

I have a baby shower today and needed something quick
and easy to make.
I've never made these before, but decided to take a chance on them.
I think they turned pretty well.
So cute! And easy. Here is the free tut.

Baby Bibs (118:365)

No pictures again.
Today I made a couple of baby bibs from fused plastic bags and estate sale binding tape.
They are super cute!
Maybe I'll put pics up tomorrow.

Update.
Pictures of this cute baby sporting those cute bibs.

Lesson learned: make sure the plastic you fuse if thick enough for your purpose. I don't think this white bib will last long. The snaps I put at the neck are pulling a bit . Too bad, it's the cutest! I may make some of these for the craft fair. I'm still perfecting my design...

Self Binding Baby Blanket (99:365)

I made my first (baby) blanket today.
My friend Kuei is having her first girl and I am excited to welcome her to the club of cuteness that is a baby girl. So, I decided to make her a modern baby blanket.
I found this really great tutorial on how to make a self binding baby blanket.
I followed those great directions to a T minus the monogram.
I think I'll add a monogram next time, it will be a fun thing to try.

Cool stitch I used for my edge, all thanks to my awesome sewing machine, not my rad sewing skillz.

Baby Bib from Fused Plastic Bags (77:365)

This is what I made from the fused plastic bags I did yesterday.
Stinkin' cute!
I saw the ones they had done and knew I could totally do it too!
I'm loving it.
This side is made from some vintage fabric scraps,
rick rack, and single fold binder's tape I found at an estate sale a couple of weeks ago.

And this side is made from the fused plastic bags, the little bird too.

I machine appliqued the birds and sewed around the edges of the rick rack because, as a mom, I know that some grody stuff can show up in tiny cracks near babies, so I wanted those suckers closed.

Now, I'm not going to lie and say it was easy,
but nothing ever is the first time (at least not for me!).
I trouble shot a bit and played around with the design for a while, but in the end, it really was pretty simple and fun to do! Next time will be much faster.

Look at this little peanut. She is a dolly.
We'll just pretend she is smiling because she loves the bib.

I imagine that this can machine wash, but then it will need to air dry because of the plastic...

Bling Bling Binky Clip (45:365)

I saw some of these online here and here (surprise, surprise, I'm a blog stalker) and decided to make one for myself. Well, not myself, but, well, you know... my baby needs it, sort of.
Anyway, here it is.
It's waaaay cute, but kind of heavy, so we'll see how functional it really is.
